The Happy Pill
Circus is an event hosted by the Primate Fiasco in conjunction
with the community. This is not a typical concert, but
more of a party which encourages the audience to participate
in physical art found around the room as well as performance
art on the dance floor and stage. The goal of the evening
is, with the help of the audience, a fun and positive
atmosphere where everyone comes together to create something
that can only happen once, and can't be experienced
via television.
Aside from the
Primate Fiasco's explosions of Psychedelic Dixieland,
the event is also packed with sideshows ranging from
your typical circus routines such as juggling and contortion,
to the unusual pleasures like Hula Hoops and audience
generated art. The Happy Pill Circus is also the home
of the BS DANCE CONTEST where audience members dance
as ridiculously as they can to win prizes from local
businesses.
The Happy Pill
Circus is intended to be launched every few months or
so. In the near future, it will take to the road. Come
be part of it. It literally won't be the same without
you. |

Audience
Generated Art
The audience will be
welcome to add their ideas to collaborative works of art found
around the room.
For example: The refrigerator door with special
Happy Pill vocabulary, or Fiasco Cam (a series of disposable
cameras hanging from strings around the dance floor). There's
usually facepaint donated by the Guild Art Center on Main
St Northampton to allow audience members to become circus
clowns. Etc. |
